Try Powder Mill Pond, an impoundment on the Contoocook. Go past Greenfield State Park (Otter Lake) rt.136 and bear right at the fork. The ramp's on the left just before the covered bridge. I haven't been there in yrs. but there used to be largemouth, and some decent smallies. Fish down stream toward the dam in Bennington. You can find it on map 20 of the NH Atlas & Gazetteer. It looks like you could get there from 202 also though Ive never been that way. It's shallow, stumpy and weedy, about 300+ acres. Not such a great launch, but ok.

the only place I ever launched into the river was in penacook. Caught some pretty nice largies but you do have to be careful.
