Post by: macdog2424 on February 23, 2015, 05:29:47 PM
Would any one be interested in doing a 2 day tournement on champlain this year? Team style. I know we talked about it before but never pulled the trigger.everyone invited from both sides .throw ing out the idea now I know some people have interest. Even 10 teams at 200 buck would be a 2000 pot

Haven't looked for permits yet trying to get a feel for how many would go. Launching I never been so been here suggestions from the guys I fish with in the mvba. Seems I got alot of interest from them already.  Dates that come in mind are June the shut off in Vermont is a week before ours in nh. But will probaly be packed with local clubs already. Or 1st weekend in septrmber witch is labor day weekend.  Could do Saturday pratice and tourny sunday monday....

Quick update . So new York doesn't require a tournament permit for bass. Only need a permit in some cases for use of land for weigh in. Suggestion right now on the table it's platsburg labor day weekend. Figure weigh in location after launch and weekend is a go

So looking at my schedule I could do it June 28 and 29th instead of labor day weekend.fishing will probaly be good then too. Most likely of of platsburg people can run where they want from there. I'm going to call around this weekend looking for a weigh in area to use

Also I would like to make this a annual thing with our 2 clubs. I plan on geting a plaque or somthing that can get passed around year to year with the winning team and club there representing on it
Hopefully we can put together a decent amount of teams to represent us.

Would we need a N.Y and Vermont fishing license?

Tracy,

This link does a pretty good job of explaining which license you would need: http://www.dec.ny.gov/permits/6411.html

For the most part, a Vermont license covers you.

Yea I would get a vermotnt. Basicly any tournament with 20 or less participants don't need a permit. I waiting to here back from plattsburg about doing weigh in at luanch. But I have permission to do it were in staying which is about 10 miles from launch. Will probaly cap this tourny at 12 boats to 13 boats to make it easy

What's the format, winning team takes all? Are there going to be split lunkers both days?  What are you thinking?
