I have a on board charger leave deep cycle batteries in or out.

scott most guys leave them in there boats. if you do make sure that you give them a charge or two this winter. i charge the ones i have every 3 or 4 weeks, just to put some life back into them.[ make sure you check the water in them]. bob beans

Scott - I pull mine out every season and keep them in the basement off the concrete cuz of the water can freeze in the batteries if left outside in the boat. I picked up a portable charger and charge them up every few weeks. That's just my .02

If you have the right onboard charger you can leave them in your boat and plugged in all winter.
Iv'e done that for the last 2 years.The charger will only bring them up to charge and then shut down until the batteries call for a charge.
