NH & ME Federated members,
I’m truly excited to officially announce we will be hosting the first ever NH Bass Federation Lake Okeechobee Classic on March 23rd & 24th of 2018!!
The tournament launch site and weigh-in will be held at Roland & Mary Ann Martins Resort and Marina which is located in Clewiston, Florida. We will have use of their facilities to include their stage and scoreboard. If you have never been to this Roland Martins Resort it’s one of the top facilities in the country/world for bass fishing. They literally have everything a bass fisherman could ask for in one place. The dates are secured at Roland Martins Resort and permits are in hand. This tournament will be a two day event, a team event and will be closed to NH & ME Federated Members; it’s not an open tournament. To be eligible for the tournament it will be required that by the start of the tournament at least one angler on each team/boat will need to provide proof they are federated through NH or ME for 2018.
Tournament fees will be as follows:
All Inclusive Tournament cost $300
o $260 for Tournament Fee
o $40 for Lunkers ($20 each day per team-Lunker Largie given out each day)
o $0 Facility fee
o 90% Payout
The tournament will be held on Friday and Saturday March 23rd & 24th. Lake Okeechobee will not be closed to fishing until sunset the night before the tournament. On Thursday night there will be a free barbecue for participating anglers and we will hold tournament registration. We will be giving out trophies for the first place team and lunkers.
I know it may sound crazy that I’m talking about a tournament that isn’t until next year, but I want everyone to have plenty of time to plan for this trip and make reservations. BE AWARE that this resort books up by October for March so if you plan on staying at the resort the earlier you can make a reservation the better. It cost nothing to make a reservation, your just need a credit card to hold the reservation. They don't charge your card until the day you check in. People come from all over the world to fish Lake Okeechobee and stay at this resort. There are multiple lodging options on the resort and its relatively cheap to stay there; I will attach a price sheet from last year and a link to the resort below for you to look reference.
If anyone has any questions feel free to contact me.
Thanks,
Joshua Ledbetter
