Curado's are decent, Also REVO's are getting good reviews although I don't own any. For Budget concerns.....BPS Johny Morris Reels aren't bad

Scott, no worries.  I like the older shimano corados. I have a bunch of the new ones and don't LOVE them. But they are alright.  ABU Garcia is really producing some nice stuff lately.  I personally avoid all quantum, some people swear by them, I've just had bad experiences.

I guess it really depends on how much you want to spend VS what your looking to get out of your reel.  Light weight? line cap? big spool? small spool? etc...  One of the best reels I've ever owned was a under $149 bucks. I've never bought a reel without putting it on a rod and getting the feel for it first.  I recommend doing that if you're unsure what brand to buy.

Scott - I hope you get back on your feet soon buddy!  Not sure yet but I am kicking around the idea of selling my '11 zx190. about 26k, I added the Hb 898 SI also the transducer shield and saver mount for the SI transducer and Y cable to switch to the gelled in transducer for better readouts while on plane.  It has at or under 20 hrs on motor and the required services were done on time by Irwin Marine?  They also winterized it.  I have them service my boats!
