Small turnout.....6 or7 boats. At the start the fog was so thick you couldn't see more than 10 feet in front of your boat. Within the first hour the fog disappeared and, weather wise, we couldn't ask for a more beautiful day. The water was like glass early and as the day went on, a light breeze and increased boat traffic created a small chop in the water. Fishing was tough for most of us. Even though Chris Hoffman had to leave the tourney early due to a family commitment, he took first place with 4 fish weighing 9+ lbs. He also took both lunker large and lunker smallie. Chris fished weed lines with a swim bait to get his winning bag. Good job Chris!! Also, Don Conrad came in 2nd with a bag weighing 6+ lbs. Don said he had one that looked like a 4 pounder come off after a short battle. We've all been there before. He still had enough to take 2nd place so, good job to you as well Don!! Also, I want to thank Mark Cibulski (spelling?) for towing me back to the boat ramp. I was way up to the northern most part of the lake when I blew an in-line fuse to the positive terminal of my battery. I started to try to use my trolling motor to get back and quickly realized it would be impossible, so I flagged Mark down and he got me back to the ramp. Again, thanks Mark. I can't tell you how much I appreciated it. Hope to see you all at the October meeting. I believe the plan is to pick next year's lakes, so if you want to have a say where we fish next year you should go to this meeting.
