I was on the pemi river the other day and was stopped by a very nice and polite fish and game officer.
Turns out I was in an off limits area of the river. I've fished this river for over 20 years and never realized
this part of the river was out of bounds after October 15th. I should have paid more attention to the rule
book. The officer could have given me a big fine and taken my license and been right to do it. He was very nice
and explained the situation to me. He did not give me a ticket which I am very grateful for. As they say ignorance
of the law is no excuse and If I had read the book better as I should have I wouldn't have gotten myself in that situation.
So please Read the book. I felt pretty stupid that I was in that situation on home waters.
