DONE FOR THE YEAR
« on: September 23, 2014, 04:55:46 AM »
Hey guys, sorry to say this, but I think I'm done for this year.  Unfortunately, it looks as if my father in law may pass away any day now, so I'm definitely not going to make this next tourney.  He was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of leukemia several weeks ago and was told he had maybe a couple months. I think that was just wishful thinking. The good thing is he isn't in any pain.  They told him he would notice he would get more and more tired as the days went on, until, one day he would go to sleep and just not wake up.  He's at the point where he is sleeping almost all day and would even rather sleep than eat.  I too have had a miserable Summer health wise.  I am leaning towards selling my boat, as I just don't fish like I used to anymore.  I can't seem to get myself out on the water other than on tournament days, and I'm even starting to miss more and more of them.  I used to fish 3 or 4 times a week.  My health doesn't allow me to do that anymore.  I will most likely put my boat on the market in the Spring unless things change for me in a big way.  I want to say right now, words can't express the pleasure it has been to fish with everyone of you guys.  I don't have one bad thing to say about any one of you.  I've often said to my wife, finding this club several years ago greatly improved the quality of my life.  I looked forward to every tournament, and as soon as one tournament was over I couldn't wait for the next one.  So, I am not going to pay the Federation fees this Fall.  Maybe, if I change my mind in the Spring and the club is under the cap, you'll allow me to fish with you all because I've been in this club for the past 5 years or so.  A man should consider himself lucky if, at the end of his life he has one true friend.  I consider every one of you a true friend. Good luck on the water the rest of the year and keep in touch.

Henry, I hope everything works out for you but most of all your health. Those were very kind words, you've always been a gentleman and fun to chat within the club. I'm sure I can speak for everyone when I say that you are always welcome no matter what. Hope to see you out there. Either way, take care of yourself.
