LOOKING FOR A NEW TRUCK
« on: January 30, 2012, 01:18:49 PM »
Totaled my Explorer last Thursday night.  Hit a patch of ice right down the street from my house and went straight into a tree.  I've been looking at the Chevy Silverado 1500.  Anybody have any suggestions/advice/info on the Silverado or any other full size truck?  I've looked pretty extensively at the F-150 but now I'm leaning toward the Silverado.  Looks like I'll have to go used.  Brand new is definitely out of my range.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Thanks Bob.  I was lucky.  Funny thing, my airbag did not deploy but passenger side did.  I hit the tree dead on so it wasn't like I hit the passenger side.  I ended up with a slight case of whiplash because I saw the tree coming and locked up my arms on the steering wheel.  I've been dealing with car salesman ever since.  Needless to say.........THAT SUCKS!!!! :-\

Henry,

Glad your alright.  I can't speak too much for the Ford, but I can say my buddy has a Silverado 1500 it has treated him well and he loves it.  However you never know, it's hard with a used vehicle as with any used product a lot depends on how the owner or owners treated it before you.  It's always helpful if you can get a qualified mechanic you trust to look it over before you buy.
